Remembering Italy

Home to many of the world’s most beautiful churches like St. Peter’s Basilica, the Milan Duomo, and the Duomo of Florence, Italy has significant influence in the world of art, architecture, music, gardens, fashion, design and last but not least, food! Famous historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo, Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus, all hailed from this boot-shaped peninsula. Italy is also headquarter to the world’s biggest luxury brands such as Prada, Gucci, Versace and Valentino as well as some of the world’s most famous car brands, including Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Ferarri, Lamborghini and Maserati. Today, we remember and celebrate the best of all things Italian, and to salute its most iconic furniture brands Minotti and Poltrona Frau, exclusively available in XTRA showroom at The Gardens Mall.

Paying reverence on Easter, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli accepted the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan to serenade the world with his majestic voice. From an empty Milan Cathedral, his touching performance was streamed live to millions of people around the world, giving a message of love, healing and hope. The live stream was accompanied by rare skyline views of the now mostly quiet cities in Italy.
